Sony Launches Binary Lollipop 5.1 For Non-Z Tool,. A few days ago, Sony Mobile's official Twitter account posted a message that they will not provide the operating system for its line of smartphones Lollipop non-Z. It shows that the Sony Xperia Xperia C3, E1, E3, M2, M2 Aqua, Ultra T2, and T3 officially will continue to be on the Android operating system Kitkat only. Fortunately, this can be changed in the future.

Sony recently issued binary Lollipop 5.1 AOSP Android for smartphones and tablets. Apparently, in addition to all the series Xperia Z, there are other Xperia series seen there. Xperia E3, M2, Ultra T2, and T3 is a non-series Xperia Z supplied binaries its AOSP. To note, Sony always provide binary to be used by Sony's own or a third party to ensure that the AOSP shooting went on their devices. This binary will be processed by the developers and third-party developers such as CyanogenMod to make the operating system running properly.

For example, a member of XDA forum, cheep5k8, has started developing Lollipop AOSP 5.1 for Xperia Z2. And all the features work very well, except for the camera and the absence of recovery in the firmware on this one. Hopefully, non-smartphone Sony Xperia Z will quickly get upgraded both official and non-official.
