Emoticons Fat Not Sin, But Facebook choose to remove,. You can not write that you feel fat on Facebook. Facebook decided to abolish emoticons "fat" on Tuesday (03/10/2015) after activists called for that it is not good for mental health.
"A community that is to say that the 'fat' can make people feel ashamed of herself, especially for people who do have an eating disorder," Facebook said. "We will eliminate the option 'fat' from the options we offer."
Previously, Facebook users can choose an emoticon with gembil cheek to describe that they feel "fat".
Facebook representative said, they do not have data on how many Facebook users who have been using these emoticons since it launched in 2013.
"This is a testament to the success of the activists who moves to help people who feel ashamed of her body," said Catherine Weingarten, one of the members of the Endangered Bodies which launched the petition via Change.org.
This petition managed to get 16,700 signatures. "I hope it can show the young activists that show their opinion can make meaningful change." (nydailynews)
